Managing Low Palmar Angles

A low palmar angle can lead to lameness in a horse. In this session, Diego Almeida will review the basic anatomy description of the effected structures, morphological changes that are seen in the foot, shoeing alternatives, advantages and disadvantages of wedge, as well as a management plan.

 

About Diego Almeida:
Diego Almeida is an associate of the Worshipful Company of Farriers and a certified journeyman farrier with American Farrier’s Association endorsements in education, forging and therapeutic hoof care. He is the program director and lead instructor of the Montana State University Farrier School.

 

 

 

Each session of this event has been approved for 0.75 International Association of Professional Farriers (IAPF) Continuing Education Credits. IAPF members will automatically receive a total of 5.25 CE Credits for attending.
