Oregon Farrier Donald "Dwight" Downing Passes Away

Seaside, Ore., farrier Donald "Dwight" Downing passed away Friday, June 1, 2018. He was 70. 

Downing attended the farrier school at California Polytechnic State University. He worked as a farrier in both Oregon and California.

He also bred, raised and trained horses that he would often race at Portland Meadows and Grants Pass Downs. 

A casual celebration of his life will take place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Splitz Grill, at 2400 NE Diamond Lake Blvd, Roseburg, Ore.
