The Baldor 1/4 hp Buffer (Red), distributed by Farrier Product Distribution Inc., has 1/2 inch shafts and operates at 1,800 rpm. The new Baldor housing is the same size as the 1/2 hp grinder and painted red, to avoid confusing it with the 1/2 hp grinder. The shafts are extended by 1 inch on each end to make it easier to keep knives away from the housing.
