Fewer Farriers Using Tablets to Manage the Business

Among the 6% of farriers who use electronic tablets in their footcare business, 17% use them for accounting, 14% for scheduling, 22% for invoicing, 17% for email, 8% for photography, 9% for video, 22% for keeping individual horse records and 13% use them for communicating via social media.

Fewer Than Half of Part-Timers Went to Farrier School

Among part-time farriers, 53% learned the trade in some way other than attending farrier school, most likely by apprenticing with one or more experienced farriers.

Among the 47% of part-time farriers who enrolled in a farrier school, only 2% did not finish the training.
