Texas Farrier John Herman Davlin Passes Away

December 16, 2024

John Herman Davlin passed away on November 30, 2024. He was 85.

Before he was a farrier, Davlin spent 20 years in the U.S. Army and Marine Corps. A Korean War veteran, he served proudly while building a family with his wife Janice, with whom he spent 61 years before her passing in 2021.

Davlin spent most of his life in Texas. He was born in Easterly in 1939 and later settled in Lampasas where he built his farrier business. Along with attending farrier school, Davlin completed a Bachelor of Science in Business. A farrier for many years, he only retired after moving to Katy, Texas, to be closer to his daughters.

Davlin will be remembered for his passion for horses, love for his family and service to his country.

He is survived by three daughters, seven grandchildren, a sister and many friends and family. To leave condolences or check for the announcement of a memorial service, visit the Callaway Allee funeral home website.
