World Championship Blacksmiths (WCB) began its 2018 season of blacksmithing competitions in late April, continuing a practice that has been upheld for 12 years. The results of the initial competition in Madison, Wis., have been announced.
Tom Petersen of Bozeman, Mont., was crowned the 2018 Madison Champion, according to a post on the WCB Facebook page. He placed first with a total of 229 points. Chris Madrid of Stanley, N.M., placed second with 227 points, followed by Travis Buck of Georgetown, Ontario, with 217 points.
The WCB will continue its 12th season June 15-17 at the Goshen Stampede in Goshen, Conn.
