Pine Bush, N.Y. farrier Charles Cable passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018. He was 76.
Cable was originally from Effingham, Ill. and had an established farriery practice in New York, where he was well known in the Goshen area. He also worked in Florida, Ohio and Michigan.
Cable learned horseshoeing from his father and came from a family of active horseshoers. There are currently four generations of Cables still shoeing.
Cable was best known for obtaining the World Championship with his Quarter Horse, Revenues Dancer.
A memorial service will be at noon on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Goshen Historic Race Track, at 44 Park Pl., Goshen, N.Y. 10924.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. June 1 at St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame at 240 Main St., Goshen, N.Y. 10924 or Goshen Historic Track, 44 Park Pl., Goshen, N.Y. 10924.
