Wildwood, Fla., farrier Roy Collins passed away July 29, 2018, after battling Lewy Body Dementia. He was 79.
Collins worked as a farrier for almost 50 years, and began his career by apprenticing with farrier Eddie Watson for 5 years. Some of the clients Collins worked with during his career include the Farmington Hunt Club, The Foxfield Races and the University of Virginia Polo Team. He primarily worked in the Albemarle County area, and retired in December 2011.
In addition to being a farrier, Collins was also an Army veteran and avid golfer.
Collins will be laid to rest at Monticello Memory Gardens.
