Midland, Texas, farrier Philip Hancock passed away Oct. 5, 2018. He was 65.

Born in Denver, Colo., Hancock was raised around horses. He trained and competed in all Western events, and he even went on to win at the Appaloosa World Championship. His love of horses brought him to farrier school. After graduating, Hancock went on to shoe all types of horses, including Tennessee Walking Horses.

The family asks that memorials be made to a charity of one’s choice in honor of Hancock. Online condolences may be made here.
