Economy, Ind., farrier Doug Colvin passed away Feb. 13, 2019. He was 71.
Colvin served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, receiving 2 Purple Hearts for his service. When he returned home, he found work through DANA Corporation, and after 32 years, he retired from the Richmond Foundry. Also, he was a member of the Centerville Masonic Lodge and York Rite of Richmond.
An avid horseman, Colvin was a farrier for many years. He was also a long-time leader for the Wayne County horse and pony 4-H clubs. Colvin was a former member of the Wayne County Sheriff Reserves, serving on the Mounted Patrol as well.
Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, from 3-6 p.m. at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin, Ind. Visitation will close with Masonic services followed by Military Honors.
