Three months after being crowned National Champion of the World Championship Blacksmiths, Tom Peterson continues to add to his trophy case.

The Bozeman, Mont., farrier won the Overall High Point Award and the National High Point Award at the 2019 National Forging and Horseshoeing Competition during the 48th annual American Farrier’s Association Convention in Tulsa, Okla.

Peterson took first in the Live Shoeing and Specialty Forging competitions, second in the Journeyman Class, fourth in the Roadster Class and sixth with Coupeville, Wash., farrier Brian Strelow in the 2-Man Draft Class.

Jordan, Minn., farrier Bodie Trnka, who the Overall High Point and National High Point winner last year, is the 2019 Reserve National High Point winner. Trnka was the winner of the Journeyman and Roadster Classes, placed second in the 2-Man Draft Class with Tucson, Ariz., farrier Tyson Clark, third in the Live Shoeing and sixth in Specialty Forging.

In addition, Trnka will be returning to the American Farriers Team in 2019 along with Clark; Travis Smith of Dillsburg, Pa.; Daniel Jones of Fairhope, Ala.; and Patrick Dutton of Medicine Lodge, Kan.
