American Farrier’s Association Convention Highlights

The American Farrier’s Association held its 49th annual convention in Chattanooga, Tenn. Farriers gathered to compete at the 2020 National Forging and Horseshoeing Competition, attend educational programs and visit the Farrier Industry Association (FIA) Marketplace. Music City Horseshoers Association was the host chapter of this year’s event.

  • Nolan Walker of Norman, Okla., and Tom Trosin of Moorpark, Calif., were elected.
• New members of the executive committee were announced
  • Jon Johnson, Ocala, Fla., was elected president (2-year term).
  • Lance Yohe, Elk Grove, Calif. (Region 1) and Doug Corey, Morrisville, N.Y., (Region 5) were appointed to the Executive Committee.
  • Lance Yohe, Elk Grove, Calif., was re-elected as a Region 1 director.
  • Kenny Hoyle, Xenia, Ohio, was elected as a Region 3 director.
  • Eric Gray, Cumming, Ga., was elected as a Region 4 director.
  • Matt Hillegas, New Windsor, Md., was elected as a Region 5 director.
• Appreciation was extended to outgoing president Travis Burns of Blacksburg, Va.; and directors Lynn Penick of Claremore, Okla. (Region 2); Justin Fry of Crosby, Minn. (Region 3); Tom Saunders of Wilsonville, Ala. (Region 4); and Dean Geis of New Windsor, Md. (Region 5).
