The Northeast Association of Equine Practitioners (NEAEP) Board of Directors announced Monday, June 22, 2020, that its 12th annual symposium will be conducted on a virtual platform in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“We will miss Saratoga Springs, N.Y., but we need to do what makes the most sense for the organization,” according to Dave Dawson, CEO and executive director of the NEAEP. “We still plan to deliver world class education opportunities. The virtual platform will allow us to reach more people, be more flexible given that travel isn’t required, and the symposium itself will be open for a substantially longer period of time.”

The symposium will take place as scheduled on Sept. 23, but will also remain open for the remainder of 2020 to accommodate busy work schedules.

“We know that many will miss our coveted wet lab experience, but we are working on ways to continue to include some of those elements, if we can,” according to Dawson. “We also know continuing education credits is on everyone’s mind and we assure you that we will have plenty of approved CE credits available to all those who attend.”

The NEAEP will provide updates, including speakers and topic synopses, via email and social media as it becomes available.
