Lateral Extension Idea for a Sound Horse Series 1

Creative approach to add lateral extension provides further therapeutic use for indirect glue solution.

Manufacturers provide farriers with a solution for many of the challenges horses present us. And while a product is suitable for one problem, it may be ineffective or detrimental when applied as a solution for another.

There are a number of factors that limit a product’s use, and we shouldn’t be critical of the manufacturer without understanding these. However, problem-solving and creativity are traits required of us as farriers. By applying our skill set, we often can modify products to address a horse’s needs.

Gluing in My Practice

Among various products I use, I find the SoundHorse Technologies Series I is a great shoe for therapeutic purposes. I’m not affiliated with or paid by SoundHorse. It is one of the many products and solutions I use in my practice.

The cuff on the shoe combined with the correct adhesive creates a strong bond that, if applied correctly, should not have any issues with shoes coming off.
