The Michel family is passing the leadership baton at Oleo Acres Farrier & Blacksmith Supply.
The Littleton, Colo.-based farrier supply shop announced that Rob Michel, a fourth-generation Oleo family member, is its new president.
“We are so excited by the progress Rob has made at Oleo in just 4 short years,” says Christi Michel, Rob’s mother and vice president of Oleo. “We can’t wait to watch him continue to grow his great grandfather’s business.”
While Rob and his wife Rachelle take over the reins, Christi and Bob — Oleo’s chief executive officer — will begin their transition into retirement.
“We are excited to pass the baton,” Bob says. “Rob is a proven leader with exceptional business vision. He’s a true people person with passion and hunger for greatness, which is just what Oleo needs as it moves into its next chapter. And, I’m not just saying that because he’s my son.”
Rob brings with him into the role a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Northern Colorado, and more than 15 years of experience in management, operations, finance and retail development. During his time as Oleo’s account executive, Rob and his team have led the business in continuing to grow the family’s business.
“I’m honored to be a part of such a well-established family business,” Rob says. “Oleo has a strong tradition of each generation out-doing the next. I will strive to maintain that tradition, as well as the same great culture my great-grandpa Vern Olinger started more than 40 years ago, and that all of his successors have fostered so well since.”
