A trio of early 2021 events is feeling the effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The Midwest Horse Fair, which features the season debut of the World Championship Blacksmiths, and the Michigan Horseshoers Association annual Contest and Clinic have been canceled.
Organizers of the three events have attempted to find alternative sites; however, the WCB is the only one to appear to have any success. While details are being worked out, Craig Trnka of WCB tells American Farriers Journal that it’s likely the event will return to Ten Pin Alley in Fitchburg, Wis., to kick off the 2021 season. The event was held there July 31-Aug. 2, 2020, after the pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 Midwest Horse Fair, which is in Madison, Wis. MHA has been unsuccessful in its attempts to find another location; however, it will continue its search.
Last week, the International Hoof-Care Summit announced that it would be transitioning its 2021 event to a virtual platform because of concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. More details about the virtual IHCS will follow in the coming weeks.
