The typical full-time farrier charges an average of $154.91 for a trim and nailing on four keg shoes while part-time farriers average $114.08 for the same work.
The charges for resetting keg shoes averages $153.71 for full-time farriers and $110.79 for part-time farriers.
For trims only, the typical full-time farrier charges an average of $51.08 while part-time farriers average $44.19 per horse.

Horse Numbers Vary Little from Year to Year
Some 74% of surveyed owners reported the number of horses they owned/managed in 2018 was the same as during the previous year. About 12% of owners indicated they own/manage more horses than they did in the previous year while 15% own/manage fewer horses than in 2017.
During 2019, 69% of the owners expected to own/manage the same number of horses as in 2018. Some 19% expected to own/manage more horses while 12% anticipated owning/managing fewer horses.
