Asheboro, N.C., farrier Roger Hawkins passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at Randolph Health, Asheboro. He was 79.

Hawkins was an elder of the Hopewell Friends Community. He was a farrier by trade and enjoyed aviation while having his pilot’s license. Hawkins was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him.

A graveside service was Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021 in the Hopewell Friends Meeting Cemetery, 2244 Hopewell Friends Rd., Asheboro.
