Meshoppen, Pa., farrier Raymond Anderson passed away April 22, 2022, in Scranton. He was 75.
He was a United States Army veteran and a member of the Elk Lake Community Church.
Throughout Anderson’s life, he worked as both a fuel delivery man and drywall contractor. However, he was most well-known throughout northeast Pennsylvania for his farrier skills and his care for horses. He was a 4-H leader, a former deacon at the Eatonville Baptist Church and more recently served on the Elk Lake Community Church’s board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, good conversation, and most of all, riding and showing horses with his family.
A viewing will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the Harding Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. April 28 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Vaughn Cemetery in Mehoopany with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Endless Mountains Riding Club, 1620 SR 367, Laceyville, PA 18623.
