Slippery Rock, Pa., farrier Howard Allen Krovak passed away on May 11, 2022. He was 59. 

Krovak worked as a farrier for much of his life, and was involved in Pennsylvania’s 4-H Club, the Pennsylvania Farriers Association, the West Virginia Farriers Association, and the All American Pony Puller Association. Krovak often competed in horseshoeing and pulling contests. In 2015, Krovak won first place in the Lightweight Pony Pulling competition at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show. 

Krovak was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on June 23, 1962. Krovak attended Burgettstown High School and was a graduate of the Kentucky Farrier School, based in Richmond, Ky. 

Services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 4 to 8 pm, at the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, Pa., 15301.
