Six individuals were honored for outstanding careers in hoof during the Halls of Fame induction ceremonies at the 20th annual International Hoof-Care Summit in Cincinnati, Ohio
Farriers Dan Haussman, Robbie Miller, Steve Norman, Dwight Sanders and Steve Teichman joined the International Horseshoeing Hall of Fame, while Christopher “Kit” Miller was inducted into the International Equine Veterinarian Hall of Fame.
The deadline for nominating worthy farriers and equine veterinarians for each of the two Halls of Fame is July 31, 2023.

Dan Haussman began apprenticing with future Hall of Fame farrier Roy Bloom in 1978, then began his career in northern Indi-ana in the early 1980s. He built a thriving practice around Chicago, Ill., and his reputation grew as a farrier, particularly with shoeing hunters and jumpers, which allowed him to expand his business covering top show horses on the circuit in Wellington, Fla.
Haussman became known as a skilled competitor, taking him to forging competitions throughout the world, including the Calgary Stampede’s World Championship Blacksmiths Competition. He competed as a member of the North American Horseshoeing Teams in 1991 and 1992. As an accomplished competitor, he judged competitions on all levels, including events such as the World of Horseshoeing Classic, and the World Championship Blacksmiths competition in Calgary, Alberta.
