[Video] Mediolateral Deformities in Foals: Farrier Treatment

The Henry Heymering Legacy Lecture is presented by Zoetis.

Mediolateral deformities occur in both front and hind legs. These are exaggerated in foals compared with mature horses. While the foal is developing, there is an opportunity to correct most deviations.

In this session, International Horseshoeing Hall of Famer Dr. Simon Curtis details the types of deviations, the process for assessing them and the treatment options, which can range from trimming for simple cases to extensions for severe cases.
