American Farrier’s Association (AFA) members reelected Hank Chisholm as its president, the organization announced at its 2024 annual convention in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Chisholm, of Lucedale, Miss., began his second 2-year term at the convention. He became president after Jon Johnson stepped down during his second term as president. After completing Johnson’s initial term, Chisholm won re-election in 2022. AFA bylaws limit presidents from serving more than two consecutive terms.

Chisholm became a professional farrier in 1985. Chisholm earned his AFA Certified Farrier designation 7 years later and his CJF in 1997. He has served as president of the Southern Farriers Association, vice president of the Alabama Professional Farriers Association and vice president of the AFA. He has been an AFA Certification tester, instructor and chairman of the Pre-Certification Committee. He serves on an ex-officio member of the AFA Foundation. Chisholm has been recognized for his contributions to the AFA and the industry with the 2015 and 2021 Edward Martin Humanitarian Award and the 2018 Walt Taylor Award.

Earl “Tri” Ellerbee, CJF, of Sebring, Fla., has been elected treasurer. He succeeds Tim Byrne, CJF, Floyds Knobs, Ind.
