Discipline & Efficiency are Keys to Missouri Farrier’s Practice

Missouri farrier, certification tester and Army veteran Brandon Stubbs, CJF, brings dedication to his daily work

Based on how fast Brandon Stubbs, CJF, drives down Missouri’s narrow, winding roads, it’s safe to say he knows what he’s doing. As an Army veteran and an American Farrier’s Association (AFA) certification tester, he’s developed an eye for detail and a meticulous understanding of shoeing principles. 

While Stubbs was in the Army, he started shoeing horses at Fort Riley, Kan. Becoming a farrier wasn’t his original plan, but things changed after he was stomped by a horse and suffered internal injuries. After recovering, shoeing became a way to challenge himself instead of a clear post-military career path. Determined to overcome a new apprehension around horses, he kept shoeing until he conquered the fear. 

This discipline and dedication carry into his daily work. Much of his practice is centered around efficiency and ensuring each horse is uniquely managed.
