American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
With more than 100 years of history, offices in more than 120 countries and having more than 1,300 employees, Corporacion Patricio Echeverria (CPE) was purchased earlier this year by the North American-based Ingersoll Tillage Group (ITG). Known worldwide by the Bellota brand, the European-based company distributes rasps and tools for the equine market in North America through Farrier Product Distribution, Inc., of Shelbyville, Ky., and Western Saddlery, Inc., of Pleasanton, Calif.
The combination of CPE and ITG brings together two complementary companies, each a recognized leader in the manufacture and supply of high quality tools for agricultural and equine use. The firms will continue to offer current products and services, with no interruption to the supply of Bellota rasps and tools in the North American market through its two longtime farrier tool distributors.
“We are confident this recent acquisition will only enhance our ability to provide the farrier industry with Bellota products,” states Dan Burke, president of Farrier Product Distribution. “The Bellota rasps and files continue to grow in popularity in all of our markets and ITG is committed to the legacy of excellence that CPE has created.”
In response to the announcement, Frank Wipfli, president of Western Saddlery, states, “In our discussions with representatives of CPE and ITG, we have been assured the acquisition will mean additional investments, including expanding production capacity to support the growth we are seeing in the sales of Bellota products.”
