When a bald guy like myself brings up a wig shop, there is an easy joke for others to make. But a dustup at a wig salon is no laughing matter. Wigs and horseshoeing have absolutely nothing to do with each other, but there is an important reminder in this story for your practice.

She Said, She Said

In early February, two women visited a wig salon in Brookfield, Wis. One of these women received the horrible diagnosis of a brain tumor in late 2013 and was shopping for a wig to mask her hair loss from radiation treatment. To make a long story short, the shopping experience did not go well. The two customers and the store staff accuse the other side of boorish behavior — terrible service on one, rude customers on the other. The customers claim that on exiting the store, the clerk wished aloud that the cancer-stricken woman’s remaining hair would fall out. The store owner says that they misinterpreted what was actually said.

I’m not going to decide the truthfulness of either account. But regardless of whatever was shouted, things have gone south for the salon since.

The furious cancer patient quickly wrote about the shop on her personal blog, including the alleged horrible statement the clerk wished on her.
