Now that we are in the summer season, what are you finding is your top hoof-care challenge and how are you addressing it?
As always here in Florida the problem in summer is water! Some horses are wet 24-7. I try to get client to scrap and dry horses after washing, limit turnout on wet grass and muddy paddocks. I have them use Keratex or Crossapol to paint the hooves and Hoof freeze and venice turpentine on the soles. Most all horses I shoe go with clips, hot fit. Also I trim and reset on a shorter schedule in the summer.
