American Farriers Journal
American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
We don’t make any secret of the fact that you wouldn’t want most members of the editorial staff here at American Farriers Journal shoeing any of your horses.
With the notable exception of Red Renchin, the Hall Of Fame farrier who stops around from time to time to help us out in his part-time role as technical editor, we aren’t farriers. We are writers and editors who do our best to put out a high-quality publication for hoof-care professionals.
Obviously, we can’t do that on our own. We get out into the field with farriers, equine veterinarians and concerned horse owners and do our best to share their viewpoints, opinions and experiences with our readers.
We couldn’t put out this magazine, run our website or sponsor the annual International Hoof-Care Summit without that kind of help.
We also have a special panel of hoof-care professionals that we particularly rely on. They are the members of our Editorial Advisory Board.
The members of this panel serve as our “sounding board.” We rely on them as key sources for stories about topics and subjects of interest and importance to the hoof-care world. Many of them have authored stories for the pages of this magazine and have made presentations at the International Hoof-Care Summit.
We also rely on them for constructive criticism. We can count on hearing from them if they feel a story we’ve included has gone…
