American Farriers Journal
American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
Now in its eighth year, the Mail-In Forging Exercise provides farriers from around the world with a chance to improve their forging skills, earn valuable farrier products and join the community of those participating in the World Championship Blacksmiths’ Competition — without ever leaving home.
All you have to do is forge a fishtail bar shoe and have it arrive in Calgary before the June 15, 2007, deadline. The Calgary Stampede’s World Championship Blacksmiths’ Competition and American Farriers Journal co-sponsor this valuable forging exercise for footcare professionals from around the world.
Just for participating, each shoer will earn $128.05 of valuable farrier products while other valuable products will be distributed among the top 25 scoring farriers. With 50 participants, $14,825.20 of products from leading industry suppliers with be distributed.
See Pages 95 to 103 in the March 2007 AFJ issue for full details on forging the shoe and information for sending your best entry to Calgary before the June 15 deadline. By being part of this unique educational opportunity, you’ll receive a personalized written evaluation of your forging skills from the Calgary judges.
