American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
The farrier from Fergus, Ontario, quickly got the answer simply by going to his cell phone.
“I have the numbers for all my customers compiled in a separate folder on my cell phone,” he says. “So it was easy to take a quick look at the list and see the total number of clients.
“This client list makes it very easy to quickly call any one of my clients without sorting through 500 or more general phone numbers.”
Ayranto works with 300 to 400 different horses in a year’s time. He employs an apprentice 3 days each week.
He’s been shoeing for 13 years and was among the graduates in the last farrier class at Seneca College in King City, Ontario. He specializes in hunters, jumpers, pleasure horses and therapeutic work. In fact, he does much of the therapeutic shoeing work at the University of Guelph.
