American Farriers Journal
American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
When Kevin White passed away last summer in Westlake Village, Calif., his shoeing rig along with those of his last three apprentices lined the street outside the funeral home for his Irish wake. Born in Belfast in Northern Ireland, White was a well-known and highly popular farrier who worked for 19 years in Southern California. He shod many of the American horses trying out for the Olympics and also served as the official farrier for the Canadian Olympic Equestrian Team. His shoeing clients included a who’s who of Hollywood celebrities and many of the top trainers on the West Coast. Along with shoeing horses for clients all over the world, White enjoyed diving for lobsters, riding on his boat and anything that had to do with the ocean.
