The International Hoof-Care Summit included four days of highly intensive footcare learning that occurred in 7 general sessions, 12 hoof-care classrooms, 24 hoof-care roundtables and trade show product knowledge. As veteran farrier Eddie Watson of Kenswick, Va., said, “I’ve been shoeing for 56 years and can hardly wait to get home and try out all these new ideas on Monday morning.”
With hundred of valuable farrier ideas presented at the first International Hoof-Care Summit, attendees definitely took home plenty of solid ideas they say will pay off big time.
At the Summit, attendees were asked for their thoughts, ideas and comments in order to make next winter’s event even more valuable. As part of their evaluation of the event, they indicated that the “take-home value” of all the valuable information ranged between $1,000 and $25,000 per attendee. Averaging these responses, the typical attendee took home new ideas that they felt would be worth an extra $5,696 this year.
Attendee notes regarding the program included comments such as “this knowledge is priceless,” “there are no costs too big for Summit education, as you always gain from this kind of learning,” “this is knowledge that can be used for a lifetime of shoeing” and “the program contained information that is so valuable that it is hard to place a dollar value on.”
