Versatility is key to Dan Bradley’s rig. It was built to accommodate the work he does both as a farrier and as a tool technician for G.E. Forge & Tool Inc. The results are obvious when the rear and two side lift doors are opened to reveal the contents of the 1997 Stone Well No. 3 model trailer.
“I have it set up so that 90 percent of the tool work is done on one side, 90 percent of the back is set up for farrier work, and the other side is 50 percent both,” Bradley says.
The tool side includes three different grinders, a drill press and everything else he might need to repair or refurbish farrier tools while attending clinics and shoeing competitions on behalf of G.E. Forge. The back of the trailer houses the expected farrier tools, including an anvil, forge, hammers, tongs and pritchels.
An assortment of keg shoes are kept on the remaining side of the trailer, along with various odds and ends. Numerous shelves and drawers around the rig hold the nails, sole pads, glues and nuts and bolts that might be needed.
