American Farriers Journal
American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
The final number of farriers who participated in the mail-in forging exercise at the Calgary Stampede hasn’t been announced yet, but shoers who sent in entries will soon be receiving a bountiful prize package of useful supplies.
Without having to leave the comforts of home, farriers could compete in this mail-in forging exercise, which is jointly sponsored by the World Championship Blacksmiths’ Competition and American Farriers Journal.
As long as farriers forged the specific deep-seated rasp bar shoe and mailed it to Calgary before the June 30, 2002, deadline, they were eligible for a guaranteed prize package of shoeing supplies worth $261. By finishing in the top 25 of the competition, that skilled farrier will also share in $11,908.24 of supplies.
To find out the top 25 finishers and the supplies they received, as well as a recap of the World Championship Blacksmiths’ Competition, check out the September/October issue of American Farriers Journal. Results also will be posted on our Web site, www.american farriers.com
Each participant will receive a personal critique of his or her shoe plus the $261 in farrier supplies that will be shipped by each of the suppliers.
Here is a rundown of the products that each entrant will receive.
