American Farriers Journal
American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
Plenty of new and exciting products were displayed at the annual meeting of the American Association of Equine Practitioners in Albuquerque, N.M.
Some 4,711 equine veterinarians, farriers, guests and exhibitors were on hand for this early December event. Check out these new products that caught the eye of American Farriers Journal staffers as we toured the trade show floor.

Stringtown Forge has introduced aluminum medial/ateral foal extensions which can be glued with any acrylic adhesive on the market. Also adaptable for use as heel or toe extensions, these shoes are malleable enough to shape, punch or drill yet tough enough to hold up under rough conditions. Eight sizes are available, the extensions can be reused and these shoes will not pinch or distort the hoof capsule.
These extensions are designed to correct crooked fetlock limbs on foals. The extension forces these foals to put the foot down and encourages the upper joints to grow straight.
