American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
If there was one disappointment at the inaugural International Hoof Care Summit last year, it was that the event offered so many learning opportunities that attendees had a hard time choosing between them. But, the attendees said, as problems go, that’s not bad.
The second annual IHCS, which will be held Jan. 26-29, 2005, in Cincinnati, will again offer a wealth of opportunities for gaining knowledge from experts and from other attendees. More than 50 expert speakers, plus hundreds of other farriers and vets, will share ideas during 52 hours of scheduled learning over the 4 days, and choices will have to be made.
With that in mind, it might be a good idea to review the options before arriving at the Summit, then develop a plan that matches what you do, or want to do, as a hoof-care pro.
Take some time to review the topics available in the general sessions, classroom sessions and roundtables. Highlight those that you think would have the most direct benefit on your day-to-day work. Or focus on those areas into which you think you’d like to expand your abilities and business.
But you might also want to get the most out of the event by indulging yourself as you can only at an event as rich in c as this. If so, select an additional session or two that will feature a prominent farrier or equine veterinarian who you’d really like to hear, regardless of the subject. And maybe reserve a session just…
