As farriers, you know first-hand that it takes a tremendous amount of hard work and determination to be successful and to gain a rock-solid reputation for horse care.
But you didn’t get there alone. Somewhere along the path was a mentor—someone who showed you the tricks of the trade. Someone who not only possessed terrific talents as a farrier and horseman, but also the willingness to share information, educate others and lead by example.
These inspiring farriers deserve to be recognized.
Since 1993, American Farriers Journal in conjunction with the Kentucky Derby Museum has honored the best farriers in the business through induction into the International Horseshoeing Hall Of Fame.
These farriers have distinguished themselves with a dedication and pride to their craft. They have promoted educational opportunities for fellow farriers and have made significant technical contributions to equine hoof care.
By leaving a lasting impression on peers and clients, these Hall Of Famers redefine the concept of “going above and beyond the call of duty.”
This year we again are seeking your help in finding the very best representatives of the farrier profession.
Send Us Your Nominations
We need the name, address, phone number, background and supporting material on those farriers you feel should be inducted into the International Horseshoeing Hall Of Fame.
How do you nominate someone? It’s easy. Just list the names of one or more farriers on separate pieces of paper and add relevant background information which you feel the judges need to know about this individual. Include your name, phone number, address and e-mail address in case the judges need more information about your nominations.
The judges will be looking for outstanding shoers whose work goes beyond daily scenarios and improves or promotes the farrier profession.
Mail the information to: American Farriers Journal, International Horseshoeing Hall Of Fame, P.O. Box 624, Brookfield, WI 53008-0624. You can fax nominations to (414) 782-1252 or e-mail them to: info@lesspub.com.
Deadline Is August 30
Nominations will be accepted through Monday, August 30. At that time, the American Farriers Journal editors and previous International Horseshoeing Hall Of Fame inductees will begin the selection process.
The Hall Of Fame class of 2000 will be announced in the December, 1999, issue of American Farriers Journal.
Previous honorees tell us that becoming a member of the International Horseshoeing Hall Of Fame is among the highest honors given to farriers around the world. By being inducted, Hall Of Famers are given a lasting tribute to the contributions they have made toward the profession. Their skill, professionalism, determination and promotion precede them and will continue to do so for years to come.
