The three-day seminar was the fourth “Hoof Care For A New Millennium” program sponsored by the vet school in recent years. The seminars are intensely focused programs concentrating on various aspects of one topic. They are earning a spot among the premier hoof-care educational events in New England as well as the rest of the country. This year, an impressive panel of farriers and veterinarians gathered to share their expertise on draft horses.
Roger J. Clark, a fellow of the Worshipful Company of Farriers of Great Britain and a member of its examination board. Clark is an internationally recognized heavy horse expert, especially for the Shire, Percheron and Suffolk breeds.
Greg Ferraro, a veterinarian and director of the University of California-Davis Center for Equine Health, a specialist in disorders of the draft horse limb.
