American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.

Farriers are invited to participate in the 30th annual American Farrier’s Association Convention, from Feb. 28 through March 3, in Kansas City, Mo. Hosted by the Kansas Farriers Association and the Missouri Farriers Association, the convention promises to have a little something for everyone.
The highlights of this year’s convention will begin with the opening ceremony on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 3 p.m., followed by the Marketplace opening at 4 p.m. The lecture series will follow the same format as in 2000 with one lecture at a time. Dr. Chris Pollitt of Australia will deliver “Anatomy of the Inner Hoof Wall,” on Thursday, March 1, and “Equine Laminitis: A Revised Pathophysiology,” on Saturday, March 3. Dr. Jerry Black of California will present “Management of Equine Joint Disease,” on Thursday, March 1. Bruce Daniels and Myron McLane team up together to present “How We Shoe Horses & Why,” on Saturday, March 3.
Convention participants are also asked to join the Bar-B-Q Sauce Contest. All proceeds will go to a local handicapped riding program.
After a hard day of work, convention-goers can take a trip back in time to relax. Besides its jazzy nightlife, quaint coffee houses and fine dining, the city is also brimming with a rich historical past…
