The Sidebone shoe will be one of 12 shoes involved in the Mustad Specialty Forging contest at the 2000 American Farrier’s Association convention in Ontario, Calif., next February 22 to 25.
The sidebone shoe is made from 11 by 3/8 by 3/4-inch stock. It is fullered inside, punched outside, uses six MX50 nails and is hammer finished. The following is a step-by-step instruction on how to make the sidebone shoe.
