North Stonington, Conn., farrier Dayton T. Trehern passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London. He was 71.
After graduating from Fitch High School in 1963, Trehern enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1969. He served the Town of North Stonington as First Selectman from 1979-83. He was a Scout master with the Boy Scouts of America and a justice of the peace. Threhern was an American Farrier’s Association certified farrier.
A service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, May 2 at Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1 in Mystic. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery. Please visit mysticfuneralhome.com to leave a note of condolence to the family.
