Lakeport, Calif., Wayne Dunnebeck passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016. He was 94.
Dunnebeck worked as a farrier for 50 years serving Lake and Mendocino counties and the Sacramento Valley in his early years. He was the original mobile farrier in Lake County.
He impacted many young horsemen through his years and was still talking about horses and shoeing until his death. Horses were his lifelong passion.
Dunnebeck was known for his many and endless stories of Lake County history, people and horses. His stories were often comical, going along with his good sense of humor, kindness and gentle soul. He was somewhat of a horse whisperer, always figuring out how to handle them.
At his request, there will be a private interment at Hartley Cemetery. Please share your memories by signing the guest book at legacy.com.
