Cypress, Texas, farrier Howard Bloxum passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016. He was 82.
Bloxum began work as a farrier and blacksmith in 1967. He founded the Texas Professional Farriers Association in the 1970s and served as president for 4 years. He was the show farrier for the Pin Oak Arabian Horse Show from 1979 to 1990. He retired to his farm in Cypress in 1998 where he enjoyed his Haflinger horses and his John Deere tractor.
