Farmington, Maine, farrier Nelson Leslie Adams passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at the Maine Veteran’s Hospital in Togus. He was 68.
He was educated in Farmington schools and joined the U.S. Army from 1965-69. In 1971, he met and married his wife of 45 years, Nancy. Adams worked for Scott Paper in Winslow, then Prudential for 10 years before finally finding his greatest love — he went to school and became a self-employed farrier. He said that he never felt like he was going to work; he just loved the challenge and everything to do with horses. He has owned many racehorses and truly loved the sport.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday Dec. 5, 2016, at the Vassalboro United Methodist Church, 614 Main St., Vassalboro. A celebration of life will follow at 11:30 a.m.
