A pair of state farrier associations have teamed up with Stonewell Bodies to benefit injured farriers.
The Texas Professional Farriers Association (TPFA), Oklahoma Farriers Association (OFA) and Stonewell are raffling a new trailer that is worth more than $20,000.
Tickets are $20 a piece. Proceeds will go toward the associations’ respective disability/injured farriers funds.
“This project is for a great cause,” says Dick Fanguy, national sales representative for Stonewell Bodies. “To my knowledge, no other association has ever done anything on this scale. You are looking at a heck of a rig and we did not start putting supplies in it.”
Manufacturers of farrier tools and supplies already have started to help with that endeavor. Danny Anderson, owner of Indian Creek Forge in Collinsville, Texas, has pledged two hoof knives — a regular and straight blade — to help stock the trailer.
The drawing will take place Jan. 24, 2018, at the International Hoof-Care Summit in Cincinnati, Ohio. If you don’t win the trailer, there will be chances to win other prizes.
“There are going to be added door prizes,” says Chuck Milne, owner of Texas Farrier Supply. “If you’re a manufacturer or supplier who would like to be involved, contact me.”
Raffle tickets are available from any TPFA and OFA member; at Texas Farrier Supply, 603 S. New Hope Rd., Kennadale, Texas; Nature Farms Farrier Supply, 3541 National Dr., Norman, Okla.; the International Hoof-Care Summit in Cincinnati, Ohio; and the American Farrier’s Association Annual Convention in Arlington, Texas. Tickets also will be available soon online.
The winner will not need to be present to win; however, he or she will be responsible for tax, title and license. Entrants must be 18 or older to enter. An advertising wrap will be applied to the trailer and must not be removed for 1 year from the drawing date.
