Marriottsville, Md., farrier Richard “Tater” Pruitt passed away Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at Howard County General Hospital. He was 74.

Tater owned and operated “Horse Shoeing by Tater” for many years. He was a member of the Maryland Farriers Association. He enjoyed horse racing, his ’55 Chevy and his pets.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017. Interment will be in Mount View Cemetery, Marriottsville.
