Odessa, Texas, farrier Willard Clinton Wright, also known as “Ol’ G” and “Big Daddy” to many, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, in Odessa.

Wright was a man who left a mark on those he encountered. He was known as one of the most unique people you could ever meet. He had a strong will and independent streak, some might even say he was mischievous. He was a man who lived his life on his own terms. He was generous to a fault, always putting others above himself. He believed in having an open home to anyone who might need it. He was an animal lover, especially of his dogs and horses. He was a horse-trainer and farrier by trade, which afforded him the opportunity to meet people of all walks of life. He was extremely loyal to his friends and family. He was the blond-headed cowboy with the smile that you never forgot. His open heart, love for life and infectious laughter will be missed greatly.

Graveside funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017.

Memorial donations may be made to any local equine organization of the giver’s choice.
