Concord, Fla., farrier Dennis Dunn has passed away Feb. 18, 2017. He was 64.
After a stint at Milsaps College, he worked as a cowboy and became fascinated with the ancient art and craft of farriery, which became his career. His excellence led to the training of three apprentices who now have careers of their own. He authored many short stories and was a finalist in Jerry Stern’s 1992 short-short story contest. Also a prolific songwriter, he won the Will McLane Florida Song contest in 1996. He performed and engineered many recordings of his songs and those of his friends and family.
Per his wishes, no public services are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the horse or animal rescue organization of your choice.
