The Northeast Association of Equine Practitioners (NEAEP) announced the hiring of Dave Dawson as its executive director and chief executive officer.
The Uxbridge, Ontario, farrier has been operating as the interim executive director with the NEAEP since October 2016.
“Dave comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience in various facets of the equine industry, as well as best business practices in both Canada and the United States,” according to a statement from the NEAEP. “The NEAEP Board of Directors are delighted with the progress the organization has made under Dave’s direction. During his short tenure the Northeast Association of Equine Practitioners has launched a new website, modernized and streamlined membership, symposium registration and is well underway with the planning for the annual symposium.”
The Board of Directors of the Northeast Association of Equine Practitioners voted unanimously to extend the interim contract into a permanent position.
“We very much look forward to what the future holds for this organization under the current leadership,” says Dr. Robert Causey, president of the NEAEP.
