Pawnee Rock, Kan., farrier Clarence “Butch” Roland Johnson passed away Oct. 31, 2017. He was 82.

Johnson had a lifetime of equine experience, including beginning his farrier career at 15. As a Teamster at the World Circus Museum, he served as farrier to circus animals and went on to ride in rodeos. He is an honorary member of the Cowboy Hall of Fame.

Funeral services took place 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at Seventh Day Adventist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rosewood Roots and Wings Foundation.
